RFMF conducts bilateral defence dialogue with NZDF

August 14, 2022The President of the Republic of Fiji and Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) His-Excellency Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and the First Lady last week made their inaugural visit to our peacekeeping troops serving in the Golan-Heights under the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).
The visit to Camp Ziouani was received by the UNDOF Deputy Force Commander Brigadier-General Anita Asmah and the Commander of the RFMF Major-General Kalouniwai. H.E Katonivere was accorded with a Guard of Honor before being briefed on the operations conducted in the Golan-Heights.
During the visit, the Presidential delegation visited Israel’s favourite mountain peak in the Golan; Mount Bental, and UN Position 22 which was one of the locations occupied by our troops. The visit was also followed by the commissioning of the Golan-Height’s barber shop and the Fiji Battalion’s recreation room.
The Presidential visit to the Golan-Heights concluded with a wreath-laying ceremony and
church service before the continuation of their tour to our peacekeepers in Sinai.
