December 16, 2023After a grueling 4 week infantry training course 76 personnel have earned the right to don the prestigious Red Diamond. The 4 weeks training began at Queen Elizabeth Barracks concluding with a week out in the field. Troops were assessed on operational, administrative, and personal skills.
The Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment Lieutenant-Colonel (Lt-Col) Atunaisa Vakatale, thanked the troops for the hard work and sacrifice throughout the training while also reminding them of the importance of being an infantry soldier. He also reminded the troops of their roles and responsibilities while upholding the ethos and values of the RFMF.
Lt-Col Vakatale went on to acknowledge the families of the 76 personnel and thanked them for their continuous support, prayers, patience and trust towards the soldiers. Lt Col Vakatale firmly stated that the 3FIR will always lead, making sure to complete all tasks at hand.
Lt-Col Vakatale ended his address by congratulating the 76 personnel and welcoming them to the Fiji Infantry Corp.
