March 27, 2024The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Commander Joint Task Force, Brigadier General Manoa Gadai commenced his official visit to the French Armed Forces in New Caledonia this week. This strategic visit underscores the strong bilateral ties between Fiji and the French Armed Forces based in New Caledonia, aimed at fostering cooperation and enhancing defence partnerships.
During the official visit, Brigadier Gadai engaged in a series of high-level discussions and exchanges with key military officials, including a courtesy call to the Commander of the French Armed Forces in New Caledonia (FANC), BrigadierGeneral Yann Latil. The meeting provided an invaluable opportunity for both Commanders to discuss matters of mutual interest, explore avenues for collaboration, and reaffirm their commitment to regional security and stability including HADR.
Brigadier General Gadai’s visit highlights the RFMF’s commitment to fostering strong relations with international partners, promoting peace, enhancing security and collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.
The RFMF remains dedicated to strengthening partnerships with like-minded nations, leveraging shared values and interests to address common security challenges and promote prosperity in the region.
Today, Brigadier Gadai conducted a visit to the Pacific Infantry Regiment stationed at Plum Base in New Caledonia.
