March 12, 2025The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Commander Land Forces (CLF), Brigadier-General (Brig-Gen) Onisivoro Covunisaqa, led his first parade of the year at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua yesterday, March 11, 2025.
In his address, Brig-Gen Covunisaqa emphasised diligence, commitment, and loyalty as the foundation for the year ahead. He urged officers and soldiers to uphold high standards of conduct, reinforcing the importance of discipline across all units under his leadership.
Brig-Gen Covunisaqa also underlined RFMFโs strict zero-tolerance policy on drug use within the force, stressing that narcotics have no place in military service.
Reflecting on the RFMFโs international peacekeeping contributions during the parade, Brig-Gen Covunisaqa acknowledged the forceโs contributions to peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, Sinai, Iraq, Sudan, and the Golan Heights. He urged personnel to remain dedicated, particularly when representing Fiji on the global stage.
In closing, Brig-Gen Covunisaqa commended the troops for their performance during recent national events, including the opening of Parliament and International Womenโs Day. He encouraged all members to remain prepared and committed.
