The Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), Major General Lance Okamura, paid a courtesy call to the Commander Land Forces, Brigadier General Onisivoro Covunisaqa, at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua today.
Upon arrival, Major General Okamura was accorded a Quarter Guard before proceeding to a formal meeting with Brigadier General Covunisaqa.
During the discussions, Brigadier General Covunisaqa expressed his appreciation to Major General Okamura and the US Army Pacific for their ongoing partnership and consistent support towards the RFMF Land Forces Command.
Major General Okamura reaffirmed USARPAC’s commitment to strengthening bilateral military cooperation and assured that the United States Army remains ready to assist the RFMF Land Forces in areas of training, capability development, and operational planning. He further noted that the US Army stands prepared to support the RFMF Land Forces in upcoming joint exercises and preparatory activities leading up to Exercise Talisman Sabre 2027.
The engagement emphasised the enduring defence relationship between the RFMF Land Forces and the United States Army Pacific, reflecting shared commitments to regional stability, security cooperation, and mutual readiness.
