On Monday, 21 July 2025, the Deputy Force Commander of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), Brigadier General (Brig-Gen) Eamon Patrick Lenaghan of the Australian Defence Force, paid an official visit to the new Fiji Battalion 12 contingent.ย  The purpose of his visit was to formally welcome the newly deployed troops and to meet with the new Commanding Officer of the Fiji Batt, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Isireli Dugu.
Upon arrival, Brig-Gen Lenaghan was honored with a Quarter Guard by the Fiji Battalionโ€”a traditional military ceremony symbolizing deep respect and recognition for his rank and position. This ceremonial welcome marked the beginning of a productive engagement between the UNDOF leadership and the new Fijian contingent.
