The Republic of Fiji Military Forceโ€™s (RFMF) 3rd Battalion, Fiji Infantry Regiment (3FIR) completed a long-range route march from Natovi to Nausori, in their lead-up for Infantry Day 2025.
This route was deliberately chosen to retrace the steps of the Fijian Battalion, including 3FIR, who marched the same path prior to their deployment to the Solomon Islands during World War II.
Troops completed the full route without any casualties, demonstrating their discipline, resilience, and unity. 3FIR troops were accompanied by Logistic Support Unit members, in the final phase of the march, before a march through Nausori town, with the RFMF Brass band.
The march also provided an opportunity to engage with the communities along the way, strengthening the bond between the RFMF and the local communities. It also reaffirmed the RFMF’s commitment to building public confidence, trust, and national unity, as per Commander RFMF’s intent.
