The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) officially launched its inaugural Lead the Leaders Course (1/25) at the Fiji Learning Institute Public Service (FLIPS) in Nasese today, aimed at strengthening leadership capacity among Warrant Officers (WOs) and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) across the Force.
The course was formally opened by the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the RFMF Veiliutaki Framework Training Team, Major Moses Morris. In his opening address, Major Morris said the course marked a significant milestone in the RFMFโ€™s leadership development efforts and reaffirmed the institutionโ€™s commitment to cultivating competent, disciplined, and values-driven leaders.
โ€œIt is my great privilege to warmly welcome you all to the inaugural Lead the Leaders Course of the RFMF. This landmark occasion marks a significant step forward in RFMFโ€™s commitment to enhancing leadership at all levels within our organization,โ€ said Major Morris.
He stressed that Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers serve as the backbone of the RFMF, bridging the gap between officers and enlisted personnel. Their leadership is central to maintaining professionalism, morale, and operational effectiveness across the Force.
โ€œYour role is vital in shaping the professionalism, morale, and operational effectiveness of the RFMF. This course is designed to build on your strengths, deepen your leadership capabilities, and empower you to lead with clarity, understanding, and empathy,โ€ Major Morris added.
The one-week course will include sessions facilitated by experienced facilitators, hands-on leadership exercises, and peer collaboration to enhance command and mentorship skills. Participants will share experiences, best practices, and lessons learned to strengthen their leadership approach within their respective units.
Major Morris urged participants to lead by example, emphasizing that true leadership is earned through integrity, empathy, and service.
โ€œAs WOs and SNCOs, you are expected to set the highest standards, not only by your actions but also by the example you set for your subordinates and peers alike. In doing so, you foster unity, trust, and resilience within your teams, which ultimately strengthens our entire Force,โ€ he said.
The Lead the Leaders Course is conducted under the RFMF Veiliutaki Framework, a leadership initiative designed to reinforce the principles of command, accountability, and teamwork across all levels of the military.
