The RFMF move towards fostering unity, resilience, and a culture of peace through the conduct of a comprehensive reconciliation training program focused on mediation, negotiation, and restorative justice’s program.
It aims to equip RFMF personnel with practical reconciliation tools to manage interpersonal and group conflict, promote emotional intelligence, and support reconciliation within both military and community contexts.
The initiative represents RFMF commitment to peace and national cohesion. In strengthening the interpersonal and peace building skills in the RFMF and ensures that we are not only guardians of national security but also as ambassadors of unity and compassion. The training reflects the RFMF’s broader vision of integrating restorative and community-led approaches into its internal and outreach reconciliation approach.
The training was facilitated by the Pacific Center for Peace-building (PCP) and the Conciliation Resources (CR) and the areas of training covered during the one week training at the Pearl Hotel, in Deuba, were Mediation and Negotiation, Safeguarding, Circle process, Mindful Communication, Language of Peace building, Restorative Justice Practices, Conflict Analysis, Anger Management.
The RFMF acknowledges the assistance of the Conciliation Resources and PCP in securing the training funding through the United Kingdom Embassy in Suva and the German Brot fur de Welt foundation.
