South Camp, Sinai Peninsula โ€” November 5, 2025: Members of the Multinational Force and Observers gathered to witness a significant moment for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces during the medals and awards ceremony. This was subsequently followed by the official transfer of authority, which involved the Commanding Officer of the outgoing Fiji Batt 43 handing over command responsibilities to the incoming Commanding Officer of Fiji Batt 44.
Lieutenant Colonel Viliame Naisau formally assumed command as the new Contingent Commander of the Second Battalion Fiji infantry Regiment – Batt 44. He is joined by Warrant Officer Class One Laitia Liloma, who has been appointed as the Regimental Sergeant Major, and Captain Reverend Josese Daveta, who will serve as the Batt 44 Chaplain.
The ceremony honored the outgoing FijiBatt 43 teamโ€™s commitment and professionalism throughout their deployment in the Sinai Peninsula. Their leadership and service under the Multinational Force and Observers contributed to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
As FijiBatt 43 concludes its mission, its members prepare to return home to Fiji, carrying with them memories of teamwork, sacrifice, and pride in representing their nation on the international stage.
