A team from the RFMF Joint Task Force Command (JTFC), alongside partners from the French Armed Forces, New Zealand Defence Force & Australian Defence Force, successfully conducted a Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise from 21 to 26 July 2025 across the Viti Levu and Yasawa Islands corridor.
The exercise brought together regional and local partners and aimed to train JTFC staff in planning and executing HADR operations, enhance collaboration between military and civilian agencies, improve interoperability between JTFC and French Armed Forces (FANC), and strengthen the RFMF’s role in responding to natural and environmental disasters in an international setting.
The exercise marked a significant step forward in boosting local & regional preparedness and cooperation for future disaster response efforts.
Also part of the exercise were other government agencies from NDRMO – Commissioner Westerns Office, Civil Based Societies & NGOs.
