The Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, has commenced his Middle East tour with an official visit to the troops and leadership of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the mission area.
During this visit, Major General Kalouniwai was honored with a ceremonial Guard of Honour after which He engaged in discussions with UNDOF Force Commander, Major General Anita Asmah. During their discussions, she acknowledged the dedication and professionalism exhibited by the Fiji Battalion over the past two months.
Under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Isireli Dugu, the Fiji Battalion exemplifies discipline, service, and commitment while upholding the UNDOF mandate. In his address to the troops, Major General Kalouniwai emphasized their significant role and responsibilities, recognizing their vital contributions to both the RFMF and the broader international community.
This visit reaffirms Fiji’s ongoing commitment to supporting international peace and security, as the nation continues its proud participation in the UNDOF mission, now in its twelfth year.
