The pre-deployment training for MFO Battalion 44 is currently underway at the Joint Taskforce Command (JTFC), Blackrock Camp, Nadi, and has now entered its fourth week. This week’s focus is the Mission Lane Training Exercise (MLTX), an activity designed to evaluate all lessons covered to date, including MFO Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while simulating operations of the MFO Southern Battalion in the Sinai.
Today, Commander Joint Task Force Command (CJTFC), Brigadier General M.D. Gadai, conducted a VIP visit to the deploying personnel. The visit also served as a platform to rehearse an official VIP visit to the MFO Mission. Accompanied by the designated Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Viliame Naisau, and the PDT training staff, Brigadier General Gadai received a full operational briefing before touring the camp, including the sentry posts.
Training remains a cornerstone of every disciplined institution, and the CJTFC reinforced this by ensuring his presence with the troops prior to deployment. His visit emphasized the importance of mastering all lessons and training requirements in order to achieve a deployable level of capability (DLOC).
Following the briefing and simulated site visit, the CJTFC addressed the MFO Headquarters element, underscoring the importance of fulfilling both the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces intent and his own. He stressed that mission success begins with executing the basics correctly, which ultimately enables the achievement of the desired operational end-state.
Brigadier General Gadai concluded by expressing his gratitude to the designated Commanding Officer and extended his best wishes to the troops as they continue their pre-deployment training.
