April 8, 2025The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Engineers Regiment marked the start of its 2025 calendar with its first parade of the year, held at the Engineers Regiment parade ground at the Nabuni Camp today (04 April, 2025).
The parade was officiated by the Commanding Officer of the Engineers Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Semi Mocelutu, who addressed the troops and reaffirmed the regimentโs commitment to supporting critical infrastructure development across the country.
In his remarks, Lt Col Mocelutu praised the dedication and hard work of the engineers, emphasizing their vital contributions to national development and military operations.
โPast accomplishments serve as a foundation for even greater achievements; our duty is to keep pushing forward, consistently raising the bar to exceed even more than our past performances,โ Lt Col Mocelutu said.
Lt Col Mocelutu urged the troops to assess their priorities and maintain clarity in their objectives.
โAs engineers, we must always assess our priorities. If we lack clear priorities, our focus will not be sharp,โ he said. โPreparedness is keyโit strengthens our mindset, maintains our physical readiness, and ensures that all necessary tools and resources, including the unwavering support of our families, are in place,โ Lt Col Mocelutu said.
He also acknowledged the critical support provided by the families of the sappers, saying their role is essential in enabling the regiment to meet its operational demands.
As part of the ceremony, Lt Col Mocelutu presented the Engineers’ lanyard to the regiment’s current Operations Officer, Captain Bilitaki. Captain Bilitaki previously served with the Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment before joining the Engineers Regiment several years ago.
