April 28, 2025The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) marked the completion of the Dangerous Goods and Air Terminal Course with a graduation ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua on Friday 25 April 2025.
Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Isireli Dugu officiated as the chief guest and congratulated participants for completing the intensive two-week training.
In his address, Lt Col Dugu acknowledged the contribution of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in delivering the course and supporting the RFMF’s development efforts.
“Our defence partners have shared their knowledge, skills, expertise, and patience in training our soldiers. Your contribution through this course helps build the capability that the RFMF is striving for in the coming years,” Lt Col Dugu said.
Lt Col Dugu emphasised that the course had enhanced the soldiers both personally and professionally, aligning with the strategic targets set by the Commander RFMF. He urged graduates to pass on their newly gained knowledge to their peers and continue seeking opportunities for professional growth.
He encouraged the participants to embrace future learning opportunities and apply their training in building greater interoperability across the region.
“The knowledge you have gained is vital to the RFMF’s strategic priorities. As you return to your units, share what you have learned,” Lt Col Dugu added.
Lt Col Dugu concluded by thanking the ADF instructors for their commitment and expressed hope for continued collaboration to address shared security challenges in the Pacific.
