The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) and Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FRCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Headquarters RFMF on Tuesday 10th January, 2017 on training to combat illegal smuggling of arms and ammunition at our borders.
Signing the agreement were the Commander RFMF (CRFMF), Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto and the Chief Executive Officer, Visvanath Das. The CRFMF said that FRCA were the first line of defence and acknowledged their important role in keeping our borders clear. The RFMF he said is ready to assist FRCA to ensure our country remains safe.
“To be able to filter out the bad and allow the good to come into the country you will need skill sets and equipment and we’re [RFMF] happy to assist in a way with sharing some of the skill sets that we have that might help with your [FRCA] work at the border,” Rear Admiral Naupoto said.
