    The Army Engineers continue to actively participate in Nation Building with the construction of various projects and activities carried throughout Fiji.

    Eversince 1975 the RFMF Engineers have completed 227 civil and rural development projects and continue to do so when the need arise due to request from the communities and directives from the government.

    The RFMF Engineers have been an assest to the institution due to the marketablility services that they provide and more of this can be viewed in the Services page of this website.

    The projects below are based on the view of the five year Strategic Plan of the RFMF.

    Completed Projects: 2008

    1. Teci, Yasawa - Evacuation Center

    2. St Thomas Aquinas Primary School – Veisari - Construction of a double story classroom

    3. Vuya, Bua - Evacuation Center

    4. Kavala, Kadavu - Construction of a foot bridge

    5. Najia Village Church – Yasawa - Construction of Evacuation Center. Troops will re-deploy once funds are available

    6. Tamavua Village Church - Ongoing since 1999; resume works in 8 Jul 02. Pullout troops in Dec 07 due to lack funds. Funded by village.

    7. Dama Church – Bua - Repair works on the Church. Self funded

    8. Thomas Baker Memorial School – Nanoko - Construction 01 x 4 bdrm building with ablution units. Funded by PMs’ Office

    9. Rt Sauvoli Memorial School – Noco, Rewa - Repair works to the school complex and a teacher’s quarters; construct a new teacher’s. Funded by PMs’ Office.

    10. Nabitu District School – Tokatoka, Tailevu - Construction of 04 ablution buildings for teacher’s quarters. Funded by PMs’ Office.

    11. Davuilevu Primary School - Construction of 01 x 02 temporary classroom bldg. Funded by School Committee.

    12. Rewa/Tailevu Road Upgrade - Use of one Grader and a Dump truck attached to PWD for upgrading of roads in Navuso – Baulevu Landing and the Nakelo, Kiuva/Kaba peninsula. Wainibokasi – Nasali stretch has been completed.

    13. Naboro Prison Complex - Dismantling of Prison facilities in Nukulau and re-construct the Minimum Visitors House, the Pre-release Prison facilities and the Training Recruit Barracks.Self funded and completed.

    Completed Projects 2009

    1. Fiji School of Nursing - Repair works to the accommodation building after cyclone Gene. Funded by Min. of Health

    2. Magodro District School – Bukuya, Ba - Construction of 01 x 01 classroom, library and a dormitory kitchen. Funded by PMs’ Office.

    3. Nabala Jnr Sec School – near Seaqaqa, Macuata - Construction of 01 x 01 classroom block.

    4. Matameivere Riverbank Project – Namara, Tailevu - Construction of 200m retaining wall on either side of the riverbank. Government Grant.

    5. Tabuya Foot Bridge – Kadavu - Construction of the foot bridge. Funded by Commissioner Eastern.

    6. Rotuma - Quarantine Station in Rotuma, Fully funded by the Government

    7. Cikobia - 1 x 2 Classroom Building and 2 x teachers Quarters, fully funded by Government

    Current & Proposed Projects

    1. Lami Fijian School - Completion of double story classroom block funded by PMs’ Office.

    2. Draiba Fijian School - Repair works to ablution block.

    3. Toga District School - Repair works to the school building.

    4. Talatala Qase’s residence - Construction of a new 03 x bedroom house funded by Davuilevu congregation.

    5. Nadakuni Church – Naitasiri - Construction of the village church.

    6. DISMAC Tasks - Recce team deployed with Min. of Agriculture team for a post disaster assessment in the Northern and Central Eastern Division

    7. Sigatoka Hospital - Construction of a new extension work at the ER section. Funded by Sigatoka Hotels and Tourism Association.
