Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces opened two mess halls at the Sukanaivalu Victoria Cross Barracks yesterday, Monday 5th December 2016.
Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto was appreciative of the mammoth task carried out by the RFMF Engineers construction team and hoped that the mess halls will be a vital tool for all military undertakings in the north. “Blessed are the hands of those who have worked tirelessly for the project and I hope that the mess hall will be an important facility for military undertakings in the Northern Division,” he said.
The old dining facilities for officers and other ranks have been serving members of Golf Company for almost three decades. The refurbishment and the construction of the two structures is a morale booster for servicemen and servicewomen in the Northern Division.
Rear Admiral Naupoto is adamant that the facility will be instrumental to Golf Company personnel’s role in maintaining security, stability and RFMF Engineers personnel role in Government’s development programs for road constructions, building schools, health centres and rehabilitation projects for cyclone damaged houses.
